We could get technical, but here’s the bottom line: Rhyzogreen® is a direct food source for the soil microbial population. Rhyzogreen serves to stimulate and feed these microbes, which then help break down soil nutrients & make them available to the plant. But at the end of the day, you’re looking at a product designed to increase tonnage or yields & improve soil health.

Folks often try to compare Rhyzogreen to other products on the market, but let’s be clear:

It's NOT a plant nutrient
It's NOT a bug-in-a-jug

IT IS a liquid blend of many natural trace elements that feeds native soil microbes. There's nothing wrong with the products above, but Rhyzogreen is different. Rhyzogreen is not feeding the plant, it’s feeding the microbes already in your soil and helping them to unlock nutrients that exist in your soil, making them available for plant uptake.

How Do I Apply It?

Rhyzogreen is a liquid that most apply foliarly in the fall while leaves are still green for maximum results, although you can also apply during spring green-up.

Typically, you'll need 1/5 of a gallon per acre. It is blended with between 5-25 gallons of water per acre and can be applied foliar, in-furrow, or through an irrigation system.

The goal is to get Rhyzogreen down to the root zone, also known as the rhizosphere. When applied foliarly, Rhyzogreen is absorbed through the leaves and quickly transferred down to the root zone, where it is expressed out through the root tips and can begin to make a difference.

In 2024, Rigoen partnered with Agrellus to conduct five farm-scale trials across Idaho, Oklahoma, Texas, Oregon, and Washington to evaluate the effectiveness of Rhyzogreen, a direct food-source for soil microbes.

The goal was to validate claims of a 20–30% increase in forage yield and improved nutritional quality. Over a 30–45 day observation window, the trials involved soil, forage, and tissue sampling, along with microbial activity analysis.

Results showed an average yield increase of 25%, improved forage digestibility, and higher nutrient availability, demonstrating both agronomic and economic benefits for growers using Rhyzogreen.
